Pro skin retouch tutorial 1 by Initio Pro skin retouch tutorial 1 by Initio
Be good to me. It's my first tutorial - PART ONE

You have to have common knowledge to Photoshop to follow this tutorial.

The secret is to NOT SHOW you have retouched the skin.
So don't overdo it!!

I have used a stock picture from the lovely :iconrammkitty-stock:
The original picture can be found here: [link]

For part two, where we change eyecolor click here [link]

I like the result of step 11 but I wouldn't go any further than that. I like the steps up to eleven, I'll definitely use them, thanks [link]

пълен мазалник е това.

and in the not-so-resonant English language, I think the final result is a complete mess...

nice landscapes, though (:

Hi, I retouch a photo of my brother recently [link] with some of my own technics and follow some parts of one of retouch tutorial on DA. but today one of my friend Polythum on DA [link] saw my photo retouch design and refer to your this tutorial to put smoothness in my design...

By the way I read it and it is really very easy to follow and the out put is very good smooth and realistic.. I will use it one the same photo of my brother and will see the difference!!!
I :+fav: and download your tutorial...
thanks for sharing it..

I'm lost at step 6. What version of paint shop is this done in exactly? When I press Ctrl L, it brings up something else. I can't seem to get it to invert. Help?!?!

Not my opinion. The truth. You would never see this kind of work in vogue. I suggest checking out [link] and browsing their forums. They barely use blur, instead the dodge and burn technique is used for real professional retouching. I thought i was actually doing pro retouching too until I checked them out. Have a nice day.
Initio Featured By Owner Sep 12, 2008   Photographer
I know tht site well :)

And yup, people still use blur - the way I explain it.. not by over doing it like most people have the tens to do..

So this is my version, and if you got your own thats fine :)
Ins3nsitive Featured By Owner Sep 20, 2008
Loving that attitude. Have to respect it.

Ins3nsitive Featured By Owner Sep 9, 2008
Professionals try not to blur skin at all. You need to practice.

You did an amazing job! Normally I have to give up on tutorials because something was left unexplained, but I was able to get through this one to the end!

Glad you could follow it :) I did my best to point out everything that might be on the way :D

Good tutorial! It's amazing to see how a photo can be changed but it's always nice to see appreciation for the original.
I love photomanipulation but not when it's to cover up the photographer's mistakes.
Good first tutorial! Mine looked awful :noes:
Initio Featured By Owner May 9, 2008   Photographer
Thank you very much :)
I don't like to cover up mictakes, but to enchane the beauty of the person in the photo.. And i don't like the pictures where it is so obvious it has been retouched.. :)
So i hope I have achieved that in this tutorial :)
ditto9 Featured By Owner May 13, 2008  Professional Digital Artist
:D yeah, you have!
I agree, enhancement is fine. I'm a bit iffy about cropping (even though I end up doing it) because a good photographer should know composition, but then again there are those times when it's impossible or its forgotton, which is fair enough.
I dont like it when people go too far with it either, when it looks real, still, but perfect, thats a good touchup!

It's not my english that fails, but my damn fingers that can't seem to type the right characters :)

You know.. sometimes it just goes so quick :)
ACrazyCharade-Stock Featured By Owner May 4, 2008   Photographer
gotcha haha, i know the feeling, I can hardly speak english anyway and its my native language. I have so many others rolling around in my head i can only remember certain words in certain languages
